Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Marylebone
Man with Van Marylebone is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to identify, address, and mitigate risks related to modern slavery, and to act with integrity in all our business relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Marylebone provides transportation and moving services to residential and commercial customers. Our operations rely on a network of suppliers and subcontractors, including vehicle hire providers, fuel suppliers, equipment providers, and labour agencies. We understand that modern slavery risks can arise at different points in these supply chains, particularly in relation to temporary labour, vehicle cleaning, and the sourcing of goods and materials.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy toward modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any supplier, subcontractor, or business partner involved in forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, or any form of exploitation. Our expectation is that everyone we work with upholds the same high standards. Any confirmed breach of this policy will lead to immediate action, including termination of contracts where appropriate and cooperation with relevant authorities.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
To support our zero-tolerance stance, we are implementing proportionate due diligence processes for suppliers and subcontractors. We expect our business partners to comply with all applicable laws on labour rights and modern slavery. As part of our onboarding process, we seek assurance that suppliers have policies and controls in place to prevent exploitation, and that they treat workers fairly, provide safe working conditions, and pay at least the legal minimum wage in their jurisdiction.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
We are developing a risk-based approach to auditing and monitoring our supply chain. Higher-risk suppliers, such as those providing labour or operating in sectors or regions where modern slavery risks are known to be greater, may be subject to enhanced checks and periodic audits. These may include requests for documentation, such as evidence of right-to-work checks, payroll records, and health and safety procedures, as well as discussions with management about their own supply chains. Where concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to agree corrective actions and timescales. Failure to address serious concerns may result in the ending of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We are committed to creating an environment where concerns about modern slavery can be raised without fear of retaliation. Team members, contractors, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspected instances of forced labour, human trafficking, or related exploitation within our operations or supply chain through internal reporting channels. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will refer matters to the relevant authorities and cooperate fully with any official investigations.
Training and Awareness
We aim to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and key suppliers. Training and guidance focus on recognising warning signs, understanding reporting procedures, and reinforcing our zero-tolerance stance. Managers responsible for procurement, supplier relationships, or workforce planning are expected to be familiar with this Statement and to ensure that our commitments are reflected in day-to-day decision-making.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Marylebone recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process and that our approach must evolve as risks and best practices change. We are committed to reviewing this Modern Slavery Statement annually, or more frequently if required by legislation or significant changes to our operations. Each review will consider the effectiveness of our policies, supplier due diligence, audits, and reporting channels, as well as any incidents or concerns raised during the year.
Following each annual review, we will update our processes where necessary to strengthen our ability to prevent and address modern slavery and human trafficking. This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Man with Van Marylebone, who take overall responsibility for ensuring that these commitments are implemented throughout the business.
